AGE DETERMINATION
WE RECOGNIZE WKA RULES
Age Determination will be per WKA Rule Book with the
exceptions of:
All Classes Welcome Per WKA Rules (Min 3 Karts Per Class)
Rookie Class (Beginner Driver With No Experience) ages 5 to 8,
8 year old can be moved up at the tracks discretion
Junior Sportsman I is age 7 to 10
ROOKIE DRIVERS
Rookie drivers are drivers who have not previously competed in
kart racing. Since this first season is full of learning the ropes,
GMP institutes the following:
Rookie class will run blue clone motor or yellow clone motor,
no alterations except header with muffler and after market air
breather. Max RPM 3900, 14/ 67 gear (NO skip-tooth gears in the
Rookie Class), max air pressure 10 psi and 35 inch tire
circumference. The right rear tire must be on a 10 inch wheel.
Billet rods are NOT allowed in the Rookie Class.
The below listed rules were added on Feb. 23, 2010.
THE BELOW CHANGES (in red) CAN ONLY BE DONE TO THE
ROOKIE BLUE MOTORS. On the rookie blue motor, you can cut
the deck to .010. You can install a Dyno Cam 216 with a max
lift of .245 and you can change the jet in carb. You have always
been able to run the air filter and adapter, header/muffler and
remove the gas tank, which is optional. THESE CHANGES CAN
ONLY BE DONE TO THE ROOKIE BLUE MOTORS IN AN
ATTEMPT TO MAKE THEM EQUAL TO THE YELLOW MOTORS.
If you have any questions about these changes, please call
Ronald Parker 228-669-3324.
Rookie drivers will be classified as a rookie in their appropriate
respective class. Rookies will be required to identify
themselves to veteran drivers on the track by placing an "X" on
the back of their helmet (colored tape is appropriate) in a
contracting color to their helmet color. This will help veteran
drivers identify the rookies during their learning period.
All Rookie drivers will retain rookie status for the entire first
season that they compete. A first season constitutes running a
minimum of 3 races in one season.
Once a Rookie has completed their first season, they may not
claim rookie status in any other kart class at any time.
Rookie drivers will be required to demonstrate to GMP officials
that they have a basic understanding of track rules and
etiquette such as, but not limited to, the following:
o What each of the flags mean and what they should do when
they see the flags displayed
o How to start a race appropriately
o What to do if you are involved in a wreck or run off the track
o What to do if you experience kart problems while on the track
o How to leave the track safely during a race if necessary.

consideration if your hair comes out of your helmet during any
race or practice.
DRIVER’S MEETINGS
MANDATORY driver’s meetings are held prior to each event at
the time specified on the schedule . All drivers and at least one
parent or guardian of minor drivers must attend the Driver’s
Meeting. There may be kid kart and rookie training sessions
held at the end of the driver’s meeting and attendance at these
training sessions is also mandatory for specified drivers.
Failure to attend a driver’s meeting will result in the absent
competitor starting at the end of the field for their feature race.
Competitor must participate in qualifying and heat races.
Generators must be turned off during Driver’s Meetings.
RACE RULES
FLAGS
Flags per WKA – NOTE: When caution flag is displayed, the
whole track is immediately under caution. The race will revert
back to the last completed lap for single file restarting. No one
will race back to the finish line, you must slow down to a safe
speed and you must stay in your position at the time of the
caution to allow the Flagman to restart the race. RACING BACK
TO THE CAUTION FLAG OR PASSING A COMPETITOR DURING
A CAUTION FOR POSITION IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED AND IS
CAUSE FOR OFFENDING DRIVER TO BE SENT TO THE REAR OF
THE FIELD OR DISQUALIFIED AS DETERMINE BY GMP
OFFICIAL.
FLAG RULES
- GREEN FLAG: The green flag is used during practice and the
race to indicate that the track is clear. It is used to start a
race and to restart a race after a yellow or red flag.
- RED FLAG: The red flag indicates that all drivers are to stop
as quickly and sagely as possible at the point designated by
the race officials. Drivers may not race back to the
start/finish line. Disobeying the red flag will result in
immediate disqualification. The red flag will only be given
by Head Flagman/starter at the start/finish line.
- BLUE FLAG: The blue flag tells a driver that he or she is
being lapped and must yield the racing line to allow lapping
karts to pass. Failure to obey the blue flag will result in
disqualification.
- BLACK FLAG: A waving black flag tells a driver that he or
she must proceed immediately to officials. It can be used to
tell a driver that he or she has been disqualified due to an
on-track infraction such as bumping, pushing, blocking,
rough driving, or other unsafe or unsportsmanlike activity. If
it is for unsportsmanlike driving in group qualifying or a pre-
final, the driver will start at the rear of the next round of
competition. If it is in the final , the driver will receive zero
points for the race.A waving black flag can also be used to
tell a driver about unsafe equipment or safety apparel in
which case the driver will receive race points based on his
finishing position as shown by scoring. If the unsafe
condition can be repaired, the race official may allow the
driver to reenter the race. In all cases, failure to leave the
track immediately may result in suspension of membership
privileges.
- WHITE FLAG: Indicates that one lap remains in the race.
The white flag is a courtesy flag and its use is not required.
- CHECKERED FLAG: The checkered flag is used in practice
to indicate that practice laps are over. When displayed in a
race it indicates that the race is complete, and drivers are
to proceed to pits or scale/impound area. If the white flag is
used, the checkered flag must follow the white flag. A red
or yellow flag cannot be displayed alone after the white
flag. They may be used with the checkered to indicate
caution on the track, and under these conditions, racing to
the checkered is prohibited. Waving checkered and black
flags indicate that the race is ending under conditions
subject to review and potential action by race officials.
- CROSSED FLAGS: Crossed flags indicate that the race is
half over.
- TWO ROLLED FLAGS: Two rolled flags indicate two laps
remain in a race.
PASSING
A competitor must always be prepared for another competitor
to pass and must therefore be on the lookout for the approach
from behind of other, faster karts. The deliberate blocking of a
faster vehicle is cause for offending driver to be sent to the rear
of the field or disqualified as determined by GMP official.
Any foul driving, unnecessary bumping, crowding, chopping,
blocking or un-sportsmanlike conduct on the track is cause for
offending driver to be sent to the rear of the field, disqualified,
or suspended as determined by GMP official.
When two karts are entering a turn together, the kart that is
behind, whether it be an inch or several feet, is required to
negotiate the turn without endangering or impairing the
progress of the kart in front. Conversely, the kart in front should
not take a deliberate course for the reason of crowding a
following competitor off the track. If any component of the kart
becomes deranged so that, in the opinion of an GMP official, it
is unsafe or illegal, the kart will be removed from the track by
being black flagged. If in the opinion of GMP officials the defect
cannot be repaired properly, the kart will be retired from the
race. When the checkered flag is shown ending the race, all
karts will proceed to the scales for weight check.
DRIVERS CANNOT HAVE FOOD, DRINK OR ANYTHING ON
THEIR PERSON THAT WAS NOT THERE DURING THE RACE,
UNTIL WEIGHT CHECK IS COMPLETED.
INSPECTION PROCEDURES
In addition to pre-race inspection, all karts are subject to a
technical inspection after each race at the discretion of the
GMP officials. Any driver failing tech will receive last place
points based on a minimum 10-car field (i.e., 10th place points if
fewer than 10 competitors in a class) – this finish cannot be
sued as a throwaway. A second offense will result in driver
receiving no points for the respective event and a 1-race
suspension for the next event held. A third offense will result in
loss of all points for the season and a suspension from the
series for one calendar year.
Non-performance related DQ’s will be handled on an as per
basis at the discretion of GMP officials.
If you refuse Tech or do not report DIRECTLY to tech / scales
after feature event, then you will receive last place points for
respective event based on a minimum 10-car field – this finish
cannot be used as a throwaway, and the loss of one throwaway
for the season.
You will receive last place points, based on a minimum 10-car
field – this finish cannot be used as a throwaway, and the loss
of one throwaway for the season at any event due to rough
driving, un-sportsmanlike conduct, underweight, false start, and
refusing or neglecting to be weighed. (If you drive past the
scales and go to your pit area and then return your weight will
not counted.
PITS
There will be no disposing of fuels or lubricants in the pit area
or on the track. Pouring or spilling such fuels or lubricants upon
the ground may be subject to expulsion from the pit area. No
open flames. There will be no reckless driving of karts in pit
area. The number of persons allowed in the pits will be
determined by race officials. GENERATORS MUST BE TURNED

consist of the top 5 finishers in each class or as determined by
the GMP Promoter. Only a finisher within the winner’s circle
may protest an engine. For example, a 5th place finisher can
protest the 2nd place finisher. Anyone finishing 6th on back
cannot file an engine protest. The protester will provide a
protest fee of $75.00. If the engine is determined to be legal.
$50.00 of the protest fee will be awarded to the kart/engine
owner and the balance goes to GMP for tear down . If the
engine is illegal, the $50.00 of the $75.00 protest fee will be

Clone Motor Rules
If the rules do not cover a specific rule, you should not make
the modification to the engine. This class is intended to be a
low cost alternative so please do not attempt to ‘read between
the lines or create gray areas’. If the below listed rules do not
cover it, you should not attempt to make the modification.
As of Feb. 1, 2010, Billet Rods are allowed in the Jr. Champ
Clones, Sr. Champ Clones and Clone Flat Kart Classes. Billet
rods are NOT allowed in the Rookie Class.
All parts can and will be checked against known stock parts
unless a specific modification is specified in the below listed
rules. No part can be cut, polished, ground, machined or altered
in any way unless specifically covered in these rules. Due to
manufacturing variables, when comparing stock parts, a small
tolerance may be acceptable on certain parts of .002 to .005 but
not in all circumstances where specific measurements have
been put in place.
